Empowered leaders program

Helping newly promoted leaders understand and live their new roles in a new operating model

Challenge

A global organization needed to support leaders newly promoted into role and working across different locations. They had the title but not yet the clarity: what the responsibilities now were, who they needed to collaborate with, and how to work practically inside an operating model that was itself new.

Solution

We built a gamified leadership and role-enablement experience that treated the role itself as the curriculum. Leadership topics were delivered through interactive classrooms and e-learning, then applied immediately through practical assignments, pod work and use cases drawn from the participants’ own situations.

A virtual workshop series brought multi-disciplinary groups together to work through collaboration needs across role types. Expert coaching and one-to-one sessions ran alongside, with collaborative discussion spaces, media content and toolkits available throughout on a single platform.

Impact

The program has been repeated through multiple cohorts across several years — the clearest signal available that it works, since a leadership program that does not land is not commissioned twice. Leaders came out of it able to describe their own mandate and accountabilities, and to name the people they needed to work with to deliver them.
